Teremos treinamentos ainda aqui (no Equador).

O provável Santos para jogar no Engenhão tem João Paulo; Daniel Guedes, Luiz Felipe, Noguera e Orinho; Leandro Donizete, Yuri e Jean Mota; Vladimir Hernández; Arthur Gomes e Kayke;

Everton: Mina injured for Watford clash

Everton have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of their Premier League encounter with Watford at Goodison Park this afternoon after it was revealed that Yerry Mina will be unavailable for selection.

What’s the word?

The Colombia international has been in fine form during the opening weeks of the new season, but Rafa Benitez confirmed that he won’t play any part in today’s encounter after picking up a hamstring problem.

“Always I say that I don’t like to lie, Yerry Mina was playing three games with the national team, coming back he felt his hamstring in training the other day, so he won’t be available,” said the 61-year-old in Friday’s press conference.

Mina is set to join the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on an extensive injury list for the Toffees, and Benitez also provided an update on his star striker’s recent recovery setback, saying: “We have some issues. Dominic has a re-injury. How long he will be out? We need to see. We will not see him for four or five weeks, maybe. I don’t like to put a timeframe on it.”

However, the former Real Madrid boss provided some positive news for Everton supporters, revealing that he’ll be able to call upon the services of Richarlison after a lengthy layoff due to a knee problem.

“Obviously, the match fitness is an issue, but he is happy and available for the visit of Watford,” Benitez confirmed. Benitez will be gutted over Mina

Despite the boost over Richarlison, the news that Mina will be unavailable for the visit of the Hornets will likely leave Benitez feeling gutted. The towering centre-back has started five league games this season and had put in some eye-catching performances prior to the international break.

As per WhoScored, the 27-year-old has averaged a whopping four clearances, 2.8 headers won, 1.5 interceptions and one tackle per league game, highlighting his influence over proceedings. Only two team-mates have made more clearances while just three have a better aerial duels record, illustrating the Colombian’s importance at the back for Everton.

While the likes of Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey are more than capable of filling in while Mina gets back to full fitness, having another key player on the treatment table will be a big concern for Benitez.

Wolves had a nightmare in Silva transfer

While Jeff Shi and Fosun have secured a number of impressive signings for Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent seasons, including the likes of Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore, Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota, the Wolves board have also been wide of the mark with a few additions to the first-team squad.

And, while criticism may come across as slightly harsh considering he is still yet to celebrate his 20th birthday, the fact that Fabio Silva cost the club a whopping £36m last summer, coupled with the 19-year-old’s poor returns so far in a Wolves shirt, means that the deal to sign the centre-forward must be put down as something of a nightmare for Fosun.

£13.5m out of pocket

Firstly, we will look at Silva’s returns on the pitch, as, regardless of the fee paid to secure his signing, the teenager’s performances at Molineux have simply not cut the mustard thus far.

Indeed, over his 32 Premier League appearances during his debut season for Wolves last term, the £37k-per-week striker found the back of the net on just four occasions, registered three assists and created one big chance for his teammates, as well as hitting the target with an average of 0.5 shots and completing a mere 0.3 key passes per game.

These returns saw the Portugal U21 international earn a disappointing seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.67, ranking him as the club’s eighth-worst performer in the top flight last time out.

Things have not got much better for Silva in the current campaign, with the player Gary Neville claimed has “no real energy” having failed to score or provide an assist, as well as averaging a SofaScore match rating of just 6.57 over his four league appearances – although, admittedly, the youngster has not started any of these fixtures.

Perhaps these returns would be slightly more palatable if Silva was a graduate of the Wolves academy, as it is only natural for a younger player – particularly one who has left his motherland – to take time to adjust to what is arguably the most challenging league in world football.

However, unfortunately for Silva, Wolves did shell out a significant amount of money for his services – money which, at present, looks to have been a rather poor investment, especially when considering the striker’s Transfermarkt value is currently sitting at £22.5m – a figure £13.5m less than his initial transfer fee.

As such, while there is still plenty of time for Silva to come good at Molineux, as things currently stand, his signing looks to have been something of a nightmare deal for Fosun.

Benkenstein rescues champions as bowlers dominate

A round-up from the first day in the third round County Championship matches

Dale Benkenstein continued his impressive form as he cracked 136 to help Durham fight back from 104 for 5 to close on 318 for 7 against Sussex at Hove. Sussex’s bowlers made the best of testing conditions early on, and 84 for 3 at lunch soon became something more serious for the champions as two wickets fell straight after the resumption. But Liam Plunkett (65*) and Benkenstein, who scored 181 last week against Somerset, added 148 for the seventh wicket, before Benkenstein fell in the closing overs.Worcestershire’s batting woes continued as they were bundled out for 167 by Lancashire at New Road. Glen Chapple took 6 for 34 and Sajid Mahmood claimed 4 for 65 as the home side folded in less than two sessions. The pace pair reduced Worcestershire 36 for 4 with the new ball as Chapple removed both openers – Stephen Moore caught at short leg first ball and Daryl Mitchell lbw – and Mahmood had Vikram Solanki caught down the leg side. Moeen Ali and Steven Davies began a recover as they added 88 for the fifth wicket, but when Ali was caught behind off Chapple the innings folded and the last six wickets fell for 43. Lancashire didn’t find batting much easier as Chris Whelan claimed the top three, but Mark Chilton and Steven Croft steadied the innings with a positive stand of 68 before Croft was trapped lbw by Matt Mason. Chilton reached the close unbeaten on 51 as the visitors moved into a five-run advantage. For a full report of Warwickshire against Yorkshire at Edgbaston click here. For a full report from Nottinghamshire against Somerset at Trent Bridge click here.Division TwoWhile events at Lord’s dominated the headlines, a few miles to the south the lowest of low-key London derbies was taking place, and a Mark Ramprakash hundred gave Surrey the edge against Middlesex as they closed on 290 for 5 at The Oval. Ramprakash rarely fails to perform well against the county he left under a cloud – he averages a tad over 100 against them – and his unbeaten 126 held together Surrey, whose batting so far this summer has been as suspect as Ricky Hatton’s chin. With Usman Afzaal (82) he posted 143 for the third wicket, but late wickets from Tim Murtagh and Alan Richardson ensured Middlesex ended the day on a high.Kent’s finances might be a more parlous state than Ireland’s, but their members briefly forgot their county’s woes as two 19-year-olds bailed their side out against Glamorgan at Canterbury. But for 87 from Sam Northeast and 90 from Wayne Parnell, Kent would have got nowhere near their final total of 282. Northeast, who was only called up when Joe Denly fell ill with a migraine, held together the top of the innings after Kent crashed from 63 for 0 to 84 for 5, and made the most of being dropped off the third ball of the day. One of those to fall in the collapse, Darren Stevens, was later found to have fractured a finger on his left hand after being struck by a lifter from Garnet Kruger and will be out for a month. When Northeast went caught behind, James Tredwell (59) and Parnell added 151 before Parnell’s dismissal – to sharp return catch by Robert Croft, heralded the loss of the last four wickets for no runs in nine deliveries. However, Parnell wasn’t quite finished as he had Gareth Rees caught in the slips, Glamorgan closing on 27 for 1.Wickets tumbled at Bristol where Leicestershire were bowled out for 133 and Gloucestershire limped to 75 for 4 by the close. Former Zimbabwe international Anthony Ireland, only drafted in because of injury, did the bulk of the damage with 6 for 31 as Leicestershire, who were 83 for 0, lost all their wickets for 50 runs after the ball had been changed for going out of shape. Gloucestershire soon found themselves wobbling on 20 for 3 before staging a slight recovery. Alex Wyatt, making his Championship debut, impressed with 2 for 22.Essex also lost their bearings after making a good start against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road, slipping from 94 for 0 to 221 all out. Former South Africa seamer Andrew Hall, who came on third change, took 5 for 29 in two spells, triggering the collapse and then polishing off the tail. Northants reached 63 for 1 by the end, losing Niall O’Brien to the last ball of the day when he got a leading edge off Graham Napier to mid-off.

Everton fans slam Kenny vs QPR

Many Everton fans have been left slamming the display of Jonjoe Kenny as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup third round stage on Tuesday night.

Two goals from former Premier League striker Charlie Austin were enough to take the Goodison Park faithful all the way to a penalty shootout, after Lucas Digne and Andros Townsend had to draw them level twice.

Rafa Benitez’s side then lost on penalties 8-7 after Tom Davies missed a crucial spot kick.

Stepping in for Seamus Coleman, Kenny really struggled at right-back against the Championship outfit, losing out on five of his duels as well as recording no blocked shots or interceptions, while losing possession of the ball on no fewer than on 14 separate occasions, the third-most out of any of his teammates (Sofascore).

These supporters of the Merseyside club slammed his performance on Twitter, with one Toffee even going as far as to claim that he was ‘shocking’:

Queensland have four days of relief before running into Victoria again and they will look for revenge in the final after the hosts waited until 8 for 806 before declaring on the final day. The Bulls will try to forget this match after learning of their second-placed finish with Tasmania’s draw with South Australia in Adelaide, a result which sealed their progress to the Junction Oval decider on Friday. The Bushrangers, who have not given up a point this summer, finally closed their first innings in the second session with the seventh-highest total in the competition’s history. Queensland’s batsmen showed some steel by reaching 1 for 187 at stumps, with Ryan Broad warming up with 100 not out and Martin Love chipping in with 77.The teams have been involved in a tit-for-tat battle over big scores for the past five years, with Queensland’s 6 for 900 declared in the 2005-06 final a response to Victoria’s 710 in the 2003-04 decider. It is unlikely the home side’s aim will alter from Friday.Cameron White started the day on 96 and brought up his hundred, but Victoria continued batting to eliminate Queensland’s hopes of an early declaration. White went on to reach 124 before he was taken by Chris Simpson, who later caught John Hastings (4) off his own bowling. In between those breakthroughs the wicketkeeper Matthew Wade got settled and he was the fourth Victorian to reach three figures after the score had already ticked to 800. It was Wade’s second century in consecutive matches and he was called in by White after raising his bat. Brad Hodge’s 261 led the punishment over the past three days along with Chris Rogers’ 123.The Bulls have some weary bowlers after their loads were increased by Chris Swan’s groin injury and their attempt to protect James Hopes ahead of the final. Ben Laughlin’s 2 for 223 came from 55 overs, Simpson delivered 65 in his 4 for 194 and Nathan Rimmington’s 0 for 183 came from from 44.

Spurs’ secret weapon: Bryan Gil

Tottenham Hotspur head into the international break sitting top of the Premier League after three games.

That, of course, means very little at this stage but so far the Nuno Santo era has got off to a very encouraging start.

Although, there should be some caution as Jose Mourinho had the north Londoners in the exact same position back in December. And by mid-April, he was sacked.

There is, however, still a lot to come from this squad.

Harry Kane is yet to properly start his season after his late return to training amid intense transfer speculation, whilst we’ve hardly seen any of the new summer signings in action.

Spurs ended deadline day with a bang by bringing in Emerson Royal from Barcelona and cancelling Serge Aurier’s contract.

But Nuno may have an ace up his sleeve with another one of his additions this transfer window – his likely trump card, Bryan Gil.

The 20-year-old gem signed in a €25m (£21.5m) deal from Sevilla, which also saw Erik Lamela move in the other direction. In signing a six-year contract, it shows that the young Spaniard is seen as one for the future.

But he can make an impact now.

The £27m-rated dynamo started both UEFA Europa Conference qualifying clashes against Pacos de Ferreira, where he provided an assist in the second leg to help steer Spurs into the group stages.

Gil is yet to feature for more than two minutes in the Premier League but that should change after the international break.

Versatility, creativity and energy.

Those are the three key things the Spain U21 international can provide Nuno with in attacking midfield.

“The Spaniard has a lovely style about the way he plays the game, with real confidence in what he does,” claimed football.london’s Alasdair Gold following his debut last month.

Meanwhile, Gil’s style has been likened to one of the Portuguese’s former players, Pedro Neto.

According to Twenty3, the 5 foot 9 dynamo and the Wolves sensation are “almost identical in terms of output last season” – Both are said to be high volume dribblers that are more creative than goalscoring.

Indeed, Gil averaged 1.7 crosses and 1.9 key passes per 90 in La Liga last season, via WhoScored. Only Kane and Heung-min Son were more creative in Spurs’ squad.

Similarly, the Sevilla youth product has been likened to Jack Grealish by ESPNUK editor David Cartlidge. “Bryan Gil a potential star in the making,” he claimed prior to the move. “Spurs landing a very, very exciting talent if reports hold true. Still raw and with lots to polish but he’s easily top 5 most exciting young talents in Spain.”

“[He’s a] LW with potential to be a AMC in the future, unbelievable amounts of technique, agility and good in 1v1s. A left foot on him you’d kill for as a footballer. Player comp for those who are unaware of him probably Grealish.”

This sort of unpredictability and quality to play anywhere along the front three is exactly what Spurs need to keep their fine form up this season.

Also lauded as a “big talent” by football scout Jacek Kulig, it’s time for Nuno to unleash Gil in the big time.

Dominic Thornely and his New South Wales team-mates piled on the runs during a massive first innings of 4 for 521 declared before squeezing five wickets from Tasmania in their unconvincing reply. Nathan Hauritz, the Test offspinner, struck three important blows to remind the selectors of his form as the visitors finished the day on 147, still 224 runs behind the follow-on mark. After Jason Krejza managed 1 for 153 in New South Wales’ innings, Hauritz (3 for 46) turned up to remove Jonathan Wells for 4 in his first over and added Rhett Lockyear (52) and George Bailey (23) to improve his side’s position. Dan Marsh’s second-ball dismissal to Burt Cockley was part of a mini-collapse of 3 for 9 and Luke Butterworth and Tim Paine ensured there was no further loss.Simon Katich, who is playing his final state match of the season due to his international commitments, swept to 143 off 150 balls in an innings that included six sixes. He started the second day wanting to build quickly towards a declaration and the closure came at lunch after Dominic Thornely had picked up 110 not out.Thornely’s century followed the hundred of Phillip Hughes on Friday, while Ben Rohrer was unbeaten on 53. Flintoff hopes security won't distract team

A sniper takes up position at the roof of the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai © AFP

England landed in Chennai on Monday night and woke up to a wet Tuesday but allrounder Andrew Flintoff believes the real challenge will be the extra security they will receive. “The environment is going to be completely different when you talk about commandos and hotels being locked down,” he told the after the squad arrived from Abu Dhabi. “That is going to be a challenge for the lads. A few of us experienced something similar here in 2002 when we had guards everywhere, but hopefully that will wear off pretty quickly.”He believed normal service would resume once the first Test got underway on Thursday. “Once you’re out in the middle bowling at Sachin Tendulkar or trying to hit Harbhajan Singh around, I don’t think you’ll be worrying about who might be around off the ground. I think that will happen more when you’re at the hotel or mooching around.”The team have made the decision to go and play cricket in India and we want to give a good account of ourselves. These circumstances might make the team tighter and hopefully this can be reflected in the results.”According to the Joint Commissioner of Chennai Police, P Balasubramaniam, England’s stay in the city will be conducted behind a security blanket of more than 5000 personnel. A squad of 300 commandos will be at the hotel and 1000 police at the outer periphery of the hotel. Heavy security will also be in place all along the route to the stadium, and 2000 police personnel will be in attendance at the venue itself.Flintoff, along with Steve Harmison, was initially apprehensive of returning to the subcontinent to complete the tour. Apart from the series missing a competitive edge, personal safety and family concerns had also weighed on Flintoff’s mind.”That was one of the things I had to get right in my mind as well,” said Flintoff. “The one thing about me is that I have to be able to try my best when I get on a cricket field. So I had to be sure I could give my all. I took time to ring family and think it over myself. It was just a case of digesting it and getting it straight in my mind. We needed to know how the tour was going to take place and, once that was presented to us, we could then decide.”There was safety to consider and also whether it was right to be playing in India so soon after Mumbai. I can’t vouch for other players but for me the IPL didn’t come into it at all. Safety is far bigger than the IPL.”However, the team decision to return and the prospect of missing cricket made him rethink. “One of the reasons I decided to go was for my team-mates. We didn’t want to get into the position where the team was split up. Even though we got beaten during the one-day series against India, the spirit in the camp was really good and that’s something we don’t want to lose. So unity has played a major part.”
