Manchester United fans have been reacting to the latest update involving reported transfer target Jadon Sancho this week.
According to the Evening Standard, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still wants to sign the English hotshot in the summer despite claims from Ed Woodward that some clubs will not be able to afford mega-money additions.
It has led to many a supporter discussing the news on social media after the information was relayed by popular Twitter account UtdReport.
United’s executive vice-chairman said: “I cannot help feeling that speculation around transfers of individual players for hundreds of millions of pounds this summer seems to ignore the realities that face the sport.”
Yet Solskjaer is determined to lead a squad overhaul beginning with the likes of Sancho, who could cost in excess of €110m (£96m).
Some supporters have been suggesting audacious swap deals whilst others have, of course, taken a swipe at Woodward.
Here’s what has been said so far…
AND in other news, Man Utd fans react to David Ornstein’s Grealish update…
When Liverpool took on Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on May 5th 2014, the slip had happened.
Steven Gerrard had lost his balance and handed the initiative to Manchester City in the Premier League title race but the clash in south London gave them an opportunity to put things right, to steady the ship and pull themselves off the canvas and back into title contention.
A reminder of where we were prior to kick-off. There were two games left apiece and Liverpool and Manchester City each had 80 points, though the latter enjoyed a superior goal difference of nine. All four fixtures were against mid-table sides and this was the only one of the quartet that was away from Anfield or the Etihad.
A win was critical. A win was Brendan Rodgers’ base requirement. It would take the Reds three points clear and put serious pressure on their rival.
Only that goal difference picked and picked at their bravado and with the assumption that City would prevail against Aston Villa and West Ham coupled with a sincere belief based on recent experience that they could blow away sides, a victory was almost taken for granted. What Liverpool wanted was to score as close to ten as possible and eradicate City’s advantage in one fell swoop.
Isolation Busters: The only quiz you need to cure your boredem
By half time, chances had been missed but the away side were a goal to the good with Joe Allen cleverly finding space in the box and heading in a Gerrard corner. Eight minutes after the break their lead was doubled as Sturridge scuffed one home and when Suarez fired in his 31st of the season the impossible dream seemed slightly plausible.
“The game is won. Now it’s all about how many Liverpool can score,” the commentator intoned and judging by the Merseysider’s intent the answer could, potentially, have been 10. Liverpool attacked relentlessly, committing men forward at every opportunity as they desperately sought a fourth that could lead to a fifth and from there… Well, who knew?
Palace, though, under Tony Pulis, simply did not give up. It wasn’t in the manager’s nature and having steadied the ship in south London, he made a series of substitutions to capitalise on the wealth of space now appearing in his opponent’s back third.
With ten minutes to go Damien Delany blasted home a long-ranger from out of the blue and Liverpool frankly didn’t know what to do. Do they stick or twist? They furrowed on regardless. Two minutes later Dwight Gayle re-directed a low cross past Mignolet and the Liverpool defence went to panic stations. Three weeks earlier the team, club and fan-base were riding the crest of a wave. Seven days earlier they had been flattened by reality.
Now, having summoned up all of their bellicose belief again they were rocked, yet still ahead. Never before had a team so needed to find a central point of sense and reason.
With a schizophrenic strategy of holding on yet simultaneously ploughing forward perhaps it’s not surprising that Palace pulled off the shock of all shocks, leaving it until two minutes to go before Gayle struck again.
It was a twist that held the nation spellbound.
What happened next?
At the final whistle, Luis Suarez cried.
Manchester City duly went on to win their remaining two games to secure their second Premier League title. For Liverpool, their quest continued.
A point on the final day of the season was sufficient to secure 11th for the Eagles; a pleasing outcome considering they won only once from their opening eleven games.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has written in his latest Daily Mail column that current Spurs man Dele Alli should have “a swagger about him” in training on Monday following his goalscoring exploits at the weekend.
What did he say?
Well, the 23-year-old rescued a point for Spurs at home to bottom-of-the-table Watford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, as the north London outfit avoided another embarrassing defeat.
Alli had only played 30 minutes of Premier League football this term prior to the clash against the Hornets when he was named in the starting XI by Mauricio Pochettino, and he repaid the Argentine’s faith by getting on the score-sheet late on.

Redknapp was clearly impressed with what he saw from Alli, writing in The Daily Mail: ‘Dele Alli does not turn 24 years old for another six months, yet this kid is already ahead of the rest when you think of those who graced England’s midfield before him.
‘Frank Lampard, for example, played 185 Premier League games before turning 24. In those, he managed 43 goals or assists. Steven Gerrard played 170 and got to 47. David Beckham played in 140 and got to 65. All great players, all big names.
‘Too many have been quick to judge Alli and I hope Saturday can be the start of him showing us what he is all about.
‘He should be walking into Tottenham’s training ground on Monday morning with a swagger about him, feeling ready to get to work.’
An important moment for Alli
Injuries and not being able to rediscover the form he has shown in the final third for Tottenham previously have really affected the England international over the course of the last 18 months or so, with his goals and assists record last season particularly disappointing considering what came before – 14 goals and 17 assists in 2017/18, for example.
The fact the 23-year-old started and scored an important goal could easily be a turning point for the former MK Dons man though, as Redknapp says, and it also comes on the back of him taking action off the pitch in terms of changing his diet and doing less commercial work.
Alli will hope to build upon that goal on Saturday against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday if he is given the nod for the Champions League tie, and boy could Spurs and Pochettino do with having the confident player that has been so influential for them in the past back now with confidence still clearly low in north London.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur chief scout Steve Hitchen may have had his eye caught by Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa when he was watching Gremio’s Everton Soares in the same game earlier this month, but the club are unlikely to land the attacker who could be his next Luis Suarez.
What’s the word, then?
Well, Sky Sports report that the north London outfit are tracking Soares, and that Hitchen cast an eye over his performance in the Copa Libertadores clash against Flamengo, in which he got the assist in a 1-1 draw.
However, Sky Sports also say that the 42-year-old may have been impressed with Barbosa, who has been in outstanding goalscoring form during his loan spell in his home country from Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old, who was recently recalled to the Brazil squad for the first time in three years, has scored 26 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Flamengo in 2019, including two in the 5-0 second leg win against Gremio on Thursday.
Those sorts of stats are reminiscent of what another South American in Suarez used to produce for Ajax prior to his move to England, and Hitchen was the mastermind behind bringing him to Anfield when he worked for Liverpool, according to The Independent.
Unlikely to sign Barbosa?
The Inter Milan man could well have been another Suarez success story – the Uruguayan went on to score 82 times in 133 outings for the Reds – for Hitchen if he was impressed with him and was able to bring him to Spurs, but that appears unlikely to happen.
Earlier this week, Fox Sports in Brazil reported that the 23-year-old is set to snub any other potential offers from European clubs to join Flamengo in a permanent deal from Inter, worth €22m (£19m).
Given his form for his current loan club and the fact he scored 19 in 42 during a separate loan spell in 2018 with Santos, that could prove to be a real shame for Tottenham if they were keen, with Harry Kane still not having any senior/quality competition for his spot in north London.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have perhaps recruited better than any other Premier League team in recent years, they’ve really got it right with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and many more.
But it hasn’t always been like that at Anfield and today we’re going to be revisiting a number of occasions where they have got it woefully wrong in terms of an incoming transfer.
So here’s a look at Liverpool’s 20 worst signings of the Premier League era…
Sean Dundee
Valencia v Liverpool 3/11/98 UEFA Cup 2nd round 2nd leg Pic : Action Images / Stuart Franklin Liverpool’s Michael Owen & Sean Dundee celebrate Steve McManaman’s goal
Pictured above celebrating with one of the club’s better acquisitions over the years Michael Owen, Sean Dundee was a true waste of money for Liverpool.
£2m may not seem like a lot of dough now at all but back in 1998 it was and all joint-managers at the time Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier would get for that lofty sum would be five appearances (all of them from the bench) and no goals from the centre-forward.
Charlie Adam
Despite that one cracking season in the Premier League for Blackpool, Charlie Adam was never good enough to represent a side like the Reds and he probably knew that as well.
That’s why the creative Scotland international lasted just the one campaign on Merseyside in what was a very strange time for Liverpool Football Club.
Christian Benteke
There are similarities between Adam and the next infamous member of this list, the man known as one of the attacking flops of all time at Anfield, Christian Benteke.
Then gaffer Brendan Rodgers splashed out an eye-watering £32.5m on the striker in the summer of 2015 and like both Adam and Dundee would last just the one term – ironically, Benteke left the north west with a record of ten goals in 42 matches, not too bad at all.
Alberto Aquilani
Mention the name Alberto Aquilani and most Kopites would offer a chuckle, this is certainly not the effect that the Italian would have wanted to leave when he arrived from Roma for £17m plus bonuses prior to the 2009/2010 season.
In truth, Xabi Alonso was always going to be a hard act to follow and that role always had the potential to be a poisoned chalice to whoever had to fulfil it, however, the woeful Aquilani made a special mess of it and it’s no small miracle that he managed to officially remain a Liverpool player for three years.
Milan Jovanovic
Famous for that hilarious video of his Reds best bits on Youtube, Milan Jovanovic turned up in the Red Half of Merseyside to a different manager to the one that signed him in 2010.
Roy Hodgson was hardly renowned for getting the best out of his players at Anfield and the Serbia midfielder is some example of that.
The balding winger is remembered at the Reds for the wrong reasons and 18 pathetic appearances after his signing he was shipped back to the league he tricked Rafa Benitez into thinking he was any good in, the Belgian first division.
Christian Poulsen
Is that a picture of Dirk Kuyt?
No, if Christian Poulsen was even half as decent for Liverpool as the legendary Dutch frontman he wouldn’t be anywhere near this list.
Putting any ifs and buts aside, Roy Hodgson was probably right to identify the Dane’s quality, after all he is one of the rare few to have played in all five of Europe’s big five divisions, though by 2010 he was fast slowing down and his terrible only campaign in Anfield Road is best forgotten.
Tiago Ilori
All the big teams have done it, signing a youngster dubbed to be the next big thing in European or even world football only for them to flop massively.
Well, Tiago Ilori is the Reds’ anti-climactic starlet and they paid a fair amount of money for him in September 2013, a reported £7m for the then 20-year-old who would only ever represent the club three times.
Paul Konchesky
As you may have already noticed, the Reds made some stinkers of signings around the turn of the decade, but none of them quite as terrible as Paul Konchesky.
The left-back was Roy Hodgson’s main man at Fulham so he saw no reason why he couldn’t follow him to play the same role at Anfield, however, his spell was nothing short of a total disaster shrouded by his mum’s Facebook rant in which she branded Liverpool fans “scouse scum.”
Mario Balotelli
Sure Mario Balotelli’s mother never said anything bad about Kopites, but his football in Liverpool could hardly do the talking for him either.
The controversial character was alright at Manchester City and pretty impressive at the 2012 UEFA European Championships, however, Luis Suarez’s were big boots to fill at Anfield plus there was always the weight of his £15m+ price tag – he was set up to fail really and did.
Joe Cole
Liverpool’s decision to sign Joe Cole in the twilight of his career was a strange one and they got what they deserved for what was a poor bit of business.
The former England and Chelsea star may not have cost Roy Hodgson (yes, him again) any actual money but his £130k-per-week salary was obscene for what the Reds actually got, a mere 42 matches, five goals and three assists, sub-standard for any attacking midfielder let alone Cole.
West Brom extended their unbeaten run to a ninth straight Championship game on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-0.
The first half was one to forget with zero shots on target for either team, but the game sparked into life just eight minutes into the second period when full-back Nathan Ferguson was allowed time and space to venture forward from the left flank to beat the QPR goalkeeper with a 25-yard strike.
Yoann Barbet was then sent off for fouling Hal Robson-Kanu when he was adjudged to be the last man and Matheus Pereira netted the resulting free-kick with less than ten minutes left on the clock.
The Brazilian winger is only on loan at the west Midlands club, but his impact has been hailed by several of the Baggies faithful – particularly after picking up his first goal.
One supporter claimed he would be an absolute steal at £9m, so the Albion hierarchy need to sign him up as soon as possible, while another said the 23-year-old was different gravy.
‘Truly gifted’ was a further description of Pereira as one more fan called him ‘majestic.’
Barcelona have now officially confirmed that Rafinha Alcantara will be extending his contract with the club and leaving on loan for Celta Vigo.
Celta will take the player for the remainder of the 2019/20 season and will also take on his salary with the addition of potential add-ons that can amount up to €1.5m (£1.3m).

With Rafinha’s loan, Barcelona ended their business in the summer transfer window, which is now officially behind us.
But not everyone was happy with the 26-year-old Brazilian parting ways with the club, even though he will be only leaving on loan for one season.
Many fans jumped to social media and Twitter to share their disappointment with the club’s decision to let go of a player they thought was among their best performers in recent games.
They also seem to think Rafinha should’ve stayed and that the 26-year-old should have been given a chance this year.
Here’s what the fans had to say about the confirmed loan exit…
