Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

Over a month ago, reports first emerged linking the north London strugglers with a move for the 21-year-old talisman, with the Serie A outfit looking for a fee in the region of €50m (£44m).

As Vlahovic is under contract until 2023, there is no rush to cash in on him, especially given the form he’s in but Spurs can strike gold if they win the race to secure him.

The likes of AC Milan, Dortmund and RB Leipzig, who offered €25m (£22.5m) last summer, are all said to be keen.

Spurs could have plenty of decisions to make in the striking department this summer.

Harry Kane’s future remains dubious for the time being, with both Manchester clubs keeping tabs on his situation, and he will wait until after England’s Euro 2020 tournament to decide his fate.

Whilst it seems unlikely that Spurs will activate the £40m option to sign Benfica loanee Carlos Vinicius permanently, according to the Daily Mail.

Therefore, a new forward is certainly going to be on the agenda, regardless of whether or not Kane goes.

Vlahovic makes an interesting candidate as he’s emerged as one of Europe’s most promising young attackers and at just 21, he’s surely only going to get better.

In just 30 league appearances, the Serbian has found the net 15 times, which is more than Andrea Belotti and Ciro Immobile, and as many as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so he’s certainly in good company.

Inter Milan legend Christian Vieri even believes he’s up there with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe as one of Europe’s top young strikers, he told fans on TwitchTV (via TBR): “I think that, after Haaland and Mbappe, he is one of the strongest in Europe. He has quality, technique. He is Serbian and they are all technically good.”

That sort of talent, combined with an evident knack for regularly finding the net, would certainly prove useful for Jose Mourinho or whoever is in charge next season – whether that be as a replacement for Kane or a viable understudy.

Rated at just £36m by CIES Football Observatory, Levy really ought to make a move now before his value soars rapidly – the comparisons to Haaland and Mbappe will certainly aid his growth, so the Spurs chairman must stump up the cash sooner rather than later.

According to a report by club insider Claret & Hugh, via West Ham Central, there is a concern among Manchester United scouts that Declan Rice is too ‘slow’ with a belief emerging that he is in fact no better than Nemanja Matic.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the Irons’ star asset in midfield, even prompting GSB to value him at around £100 million.

However, as per this C&H update, United scouts are starting to have major concerns over a swoop for Rice who they believe isn’t pacy enough to be worth acquiring for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 22-year-old, starting 29 Premier League games for West Ham this season, has managed the most interceptions out of any Irons player this season and has been key for boss David Moyes (WhoScored).

As a result, this strange alleged stance on a move for Rice comes as music to the ears of many Hammers fans on social media – with one calling it the ‘best news’ he’s heard in a while.

As Manchester City recover from what has been a torrid last week, losing the FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea followed by the European Super League saga, Pep Guardiola’s side are back to winning ways after a 2-1 victory against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening. 

Goals from Phil Foden and Rodrigo clinched a crucial three points from 1-0 down with City now on the way to a fifth Premier League title and third under Guardiola – coming just in time ahead of the Carabao Cup final this weekend.

John McGinn gave Villa a very early lead after John Stones failed to clear a pass in behind though, and the Englishman didn’t exactly have the best evening.

He has arguably been City’s most improved player this season, partnering summer signing Ruben Dias to superb effect, but at Villa Park he played a hand in the home side’s opener and later got sent off for a reckless challenge on Jacob Ramsey – with one fan calling him a ‘liability’ as a result.

Despite his incredible form this season, many Sky Blues weren’t impressed with last night’s showing – with the 26-year-old unsurprisingly managing a measly 5.0 rating on SofaScore.

Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has been the latest coach to be linked with a move to Celtic.

Speculation has mounted in recent days, with reports suggesting the Hoops approached the 58-year-old following his sacking in north London.

Reliable reporter Alan Nixon has now had his say on the rumours regarding Celtic and Mourinho. The Sun journalist was asked by a Hoops fan on Friday evening if there is any truth in the links to the Portuguese native.

He replied in three simple words: “Can’t see it.”

We’re with Nixon here in feeling that a move for Mourinho won’t gather any real pace.

For starters, look at his salary at Spurs. He was thought to be on a £15m-per-year deal in the English capital. Former Celtic managers Neil Lennon and Brendan Rodgers were on £2.4m-a-year and £2.3m-a-year respectively, so that just shows the huge financial comparison.

Roma and Valencia are also thought to be keen on Mourinho’s services, so due to the money which would be required to lure him to Parkhead amid interest from other clubs, we can’t see this one materialising.

Barry Fry has told The Transfer Tavern that he was left confused by Jose Mourinho’s treatment of both Dele Alli and Gareth Bale during his time at Tottenham Hotspur amid their returns to the team.

Both players played against Sheffield United on Sunday night, with interim coach Ryan Mason selecting them both in his starting XI.

His faith was rewarded as Bale scored a hat-trick and Alli helped bamboozle the Blades players with his clever dribbling and hard running.

Spurs ultimately won the game 4-0 to keep their hopes of finishing in the top four alive – they are now five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Fry believes that Mourinho, who was sacked prior to the games against Southampton in the Premier League and Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, got it wrong with both Alli and Bale.

And he has questioned whether or not the Portuguese actually wanted to sign the Wales international, such was his lack of desire to play him.

Indeed, under Mourinho, Bale made six starts, while Alli made two.

Speaking exclusively to TT, Fry said: “He’s obviously fallen out with so many players, and also, talking to a lot of Tottenham fans like I do, there’s a lot of players that the Tottenham fans rate very highly that didn’t get a look-in under Mourinho.

“Alli to name but one, and even Bale.

“They got Bale in, the question for me is did Daniel Levy fetch Bale back or did Mourinho really want Bale? If Mourinho really wanted Bale, why didn’t he start in more games?”

With the future of Helder Costa at Elland Road uncertain, it seems as though Marcelo Bielsa has his sights set on signing a new star winger for his side ahead of next season in the Premier League.

According to German publication SportBILD (via Leeds Live), the Whites made an enquiry to sign the Brazilian back in the January transfer window, and are now ready to reignite that interest in the summer.

The report adds that interest in the 21-year-old is becoming more concrete, and Cunha is keen to explore new opportunities too.

The £35m-rated Cunha has enjoyed an impressive campaign with Hertha in the Bundesliga this season, netting seven goals and providing another six assists in just 27 games in the competition.

And, his former manager at Hertha, Bruno Labbadia, said that Cunha has got the kind of ability and talent to be a real game-changer, and can decide games on his own with a piece of magic.
